Seixal village. Isabelle Catucci. Stoneware and glazed terracotta, 1200ºC and 1050ºC; pebbles, water, iron fragments found on the beach. 1.80 x 0.60 x 0.40 m. Photo by the author, 2021.
Pebbles; a fishing village; houses with the walls flaking off; places where boats are repaired; a site from which Lisbon can be seen, as someone would see a moored ship. By the corners of the streets, flat landscapes are unveiled. The set of ceramic plates contains photographs taken from the collection of the EcoMuseu of the City Council of Seixal, maps and drawings. The rust of the hulls, the layers of the walls and the colors bring about an affective memory, which, little by little, condensed itself into vases with rocks, water and iron.
